Unit 1

 In this unit we learned about the human communication. 

Communication refears to the exange of ideas and knowledge by speech, writting or signs.

Personally, I think the most important part was the language development, so I´m going to explain it to you. It is separated by years, however, it can vary on each child. 

1. Birth

  • The baby starts the lenguage develpment.
  • The baby reacts to loud sounds.
  • The baby reproduce sounds that indicate pain or pleasure.
  • The first form of communication is by crying. 


2. 0 to 3 months
  • The baby watches the face of the person speaking.
  • The baby recognice familiar voices.
  • The baby starts cooing.
  • The baby starts using different cries to express his needs.

3. 4 to 6 months
  • The baby follows the sound with his eyes.
  • The baby starts babbling and gurgling.

4. By 6 months
  • The baby responds to his name.
  • The baby vocalice with intonation.

5. 7 to 12 months
  • The baby starts the comprehension and the expression.
  • Comprehension: looks in directoins, listen, recognice words. 
  • Expression: says 1 or 2 words and babblings.

6. 1 to 2 years
  • Comprehension: the baby understand 50 words at 12 months and 200 words at 18 months. 
  • The baby identifies simple body parts.
  • The baby follows simple directions.
  • The baby listen to stories.
  • Expression: the baby says 3 words at 12 months and 200 words at 23 months.
  • The baby start to use the question.

7. 2 to 3 years
  • Comprehension: at 24 months the baby understand around 500-700 words and at 30 months +900 words. 
  • The baby can follow 1 or 2 step directions.
  • Expression: the baby knows 570 words at 30 months.
  • The baby makes 3 to 5 word sentences.
  • The baby use grammatical structure of sentences.
